Hanna Gilicze Trainee Accountant

2022 Update: Hannah is now fully qualified

When did you start working at Johnson and Perrott?
I started working at Johnson and Perrott in July 2018.

How did you progress into the role of Trainee Accountant?
I joined the Johnson  and Perrott team as an Accounts Payable Assistant just after finishing my Accounting Technician exams at CIT. I took a year break from studying and in July 2019 I started working towards my CPA qualification. I moved to a new Accounts Assistant role that was available in Douglas shorty afterwards. As I progressed with my studies I have since been promoted into the role of a Trainee Accountant.

If someone wanted to become a Trainee Accountant, how would they go about it?
There’s a few different paths one could take, depending if they would like to work in industry or in practice. It is important to pick the accounting qualification that suits you and take it at a pace you’re comfortable with. Gaining practical experience as progressing through studies is the best way to go about it.

Do you have any tips for young people thinking of getting into the Industry?
There are many great opportunities that are available for someone who wants to get into the industry and progress, just need to work hard and be open to learn new things.
