Seat Motor Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanic to join our SEAT franchise. This position presents an excellent opportunity for individuals aspiring to advance their career and work towards achieving a Master Technician qualification.

Hours

You will be working 39.7 hours per week, from Monday to Thursday: 9 am – 5:45 pm, and Friday: 9 am - 4 pm.

Location

Mahonpoint Retail Park, Mahon, Cork. T12 RD35.

Responsibilities

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Diagnosing and repairing faults, as well as servicing vehicles according to manufacturers' guidelines.
  • Conducting vehicle health checks to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest technology introduced in the vehicle range.
  • Completing service paperwork (job sheets, PDI's, service reports) in compliance with warranty and dealer requirements.
  • Communicating with the Parts department to procure necessary parts.
  • Collaborating with Service Advisors to identify additional work or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  • Saving and tagging parts if the job is covered under warranty.
  • Meeting efficiency standards in the aftersales department.
  • Working with colleagues to deliver exceptional customer service and share best practices.
  • Maintaining workshop housekeeping standards, including the proper use of tools.

Essential Skills

  • A qualified Motor Technician.
  • Possession of a full clean category B driver's license is required.
  • Experience in the VW group franchises would be advantageous.
  • A strong desire to undergo training and develop into a Master Technician.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach.
