Introducing the Jaguar E-Pace
Launched in 2017, the Jaguar E-PACE soon became a hit in the compact SUV market.
The practical, yet stylish, compact SUV is smaller than the F-PACE but is still a highly desirable choice for families, especially those who want something a little more agile than the larger Jaguar SUV.
Not only has the new Jaguar E-PACE received a refreshed exterior, enhanced interior, new vehicle architecture and installation of the latest Pivi Pro infotainment; Jaguar's popular compact SUV features a choice of powerful and efficient engines. Some engines feature Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) technology, whilst there is also an advanced Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) powertrain.
Enhancing the luxuriousness of the E-PACE's exterior are new all-LED headlights, featuring 'Double J' Daytime Running Light (DRL) signatures, which are available with optional Pixel LED technology.
Comfort and refinement continue to be key benefits of the E-PACE and it is clear to see the designers have paid meticulous attention to detail whilst designing the premium interior.
Throughout the beautifully crafted interior there is plenty of stowage space, including a flexible centre console with a removable cupholder tray. The boot is larger than its predecessor with a substantial load space of 494 litres, which increases to 1,170 litres when the rear seats are folded down.
Cutting-edge connected technologies feature in the E-PACE, including the latest Pivi Pro infotainment technology; accessed through a new curved glass 11.4-inch HD touchscreen.
Smartphone users will be pleased as there is 15W wireless device charger, located in front of the new Driver Selector, and featuring as standard are Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. Connectivity is enhanced even further thanks to Amazon Alexa voice-control.
Not only does the E-PACE have an exceptional array of technology, but there are also various safety features to assist the driver as well as making the journey simpler and even more comfortable, whilst residing in the plush interior.
Safety features include:
Hill Start Assist (HSA)
Lane Keep Assist
Front and Rear Parking Aid
3D Surround Camera
Cruise Control and Speed Limiter
Traffic Sign Recognition and Adaptive Speed Limiter
Featuring MHEV technology, the 2.0-litre petrol engine is available in three power outputs: 197bhp, 246bhp and 296bhp. The 296bhp variant is exclusive in the 300 SPORT and produces an astounding 400Nm of torque to deliver 0 to 100km/h in just 6.6 seconds.
The new P300e PHEV combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an Electric Rear Axle Drive (ERAD) motor to provide the ability to travel up to 63km in Electric (EV) mode.
A 2.0-litre diesel engine which is paired with MHEV technology, All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) and a nine-speed automatic transmission is also available as well as a 161bhp diesel engine with a six-speed manual transmission, without MHEV technology and AWD.
Jaguar's MHEV technology intelligently recovers energy that would normally be lost when slowing down, then redeploys it to boost power to the engine, increasing efficiency. There's no need to charge, like with the plug-in hybrid model, but you still benefit from lower CO2 emissions and improved fuel economy.
Efficient engines, featuring both PHEV and MHEV technology, along with a deluxe interior make the E-PACE a fine choice of motor. Jaguar excel when it comes to luxury and refinement, this is clear to see when you analyse the whole package that the E-PACE delivers.
