Design

There are conventional sedans, and then there’s the ES90.

This car moves beyond convention to meet the needs of a modern family. Delicate lines flow from the bonnet and shoulders into a coupe-style silhouette with an aerodynamic edge. The hatchback-style tailgate makes it as easy to pack for a week-long getaway as the daily school run. The stretched wheelbase creates a poised stance on the road and more room in the cabin. And large wheels punctuate the proportions and make it easier to step inside.

Our signature Thor’s Hammer LED headlights come standard. They cast a wide light pattern for excellent visibility and automatically switch between high and low beams as other cars approach. The car’s glossy black details add eye-catching dimension to the car’s exterior trim. Select Bright trim to change things up. This trim adds gleaming metallic accents on the lower door mouldings, front spoiler and rear diffuser.

Performance

The Volvo ES90 delivers impressive electric performance with a combined range of up to 650 km and an exceptional city range of up to 845 km, thanks to its efficient energy consumption of just 12.5 kWh/100 km in urban driving. Powered by a 245 kW (333 hp) electric motor producing 480 Nm of torque, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds, while maintaining a top speed of 180 km/h. With zero CO₂ emissions and a total WLTP consumption of 16.1 kWh/100 km, the ES90 strikes a refined balance between dynamic driving and sustainable efficiency.

Highlights

Multi-Zone Climate Controls

The driver, front passenger and two outer rear passengers can each set their own temperature and fan speed. Front passengers adjust theirs through the centre display. Rear passengers use a touch panel on the back of the centre console.

Laminated windows

Select laminated windows to enhance the calm inside your ES90. Two sheets of glass are bonded together with a central polymer layer. This reduces outside noise and strengthens the glass for added security in case of a collision or break-in.

Ride comfort

The standard chassis with Frequency Selective Damping technology automatically adapts to the road for a controlled drive. The double wishbone suspension and integral rear link smooth corners and absorb bumps. Electronic support systems enhance traction.

Advanced sensing technology

The ES90 is equipped with cutting-edge sensing technology designed to help perceive the environment and reduce the risk of accidents or collisions if needed. This sensing technology helps create a real-time 360° view of your surroundings. Supported by Volvo Cars’ core computing platform, it processes vast amounts of data with speed and precision to enable the car to respond intelligently to potential hazards.

High Definition Pixel headlights

Light up the night without dazzling other drivers. The advanced High Definition Pixel headlights in the ES90 use 20,000 pixels that change the light pattern according to what’s on the road. Working with the car's front cameras, they can detect up to five cars and three other objects at once. The light pattern automatically adjusts to help reduce glare while keeping your visibility clear.

Collision avoidance

The car can detect oncoming vehicles on a collision course. If a collision is imminent, the seatbelts tighten to help position front seat passengers more effectively before impact, and the car automatically applies the brakes to help you slow down by up to 15 km/h.

Door Opening Alert

Avoid unforeseen accidents when opening the doors of your parked car. The radars on the rear of your Volvo car can detect approaching cyclists and motorists from behind and alert anyone in the car who might be about to open their door. Your car can send you alerts in two stages. Initially, a warning light on the corresponding door mirror can illuminate. If a collision is imminent, the light can begin flashing with a warning sound.

360° camera with 3D view

Get in and out of tight spots with the optional 360° camera with 3D view. Use the split-screen option on the centre display for a near-180° front or rear view for better visibility. When reverse parking, the rear-view camera shows guiding lines to help you ease into place. Pinch to zoom in, especially while attaching a trailer.

Pilot Assist

Pilot Assist supports relaxed yet focused driving from a standstill up to 150 km/h. Keep your hands on the wheel as it gently adjusts steering, braking and acceleration. It can even read road signs and automatically adjust your speed to match the limit.
