About Us: Established in 1980, National Truck & Van Rental has accumulated extensive expertise in commercial vehicle hire over the years. As a part of the Johnson and Perrott Motor Group, we are excited to invite applications for a Rental Sales Agent to join our Douglas team.

Job Summary:

The Rental Sales Agent plays a key role within the National Truck & Van Rental Division, ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of vehicle rental services to both business and retail customers at our Cork Depot. This is a customer-facing, sales and operational role, responsible for managing rental enquiries and reservations, maximising sales opportunities, and delivering a professional customer experience throughout the rental journey. The successful candidate will be the key point of contact for customers from the initial enquiry and booking through to vehicle collection, handover, return and finalisation of charges.

Main Objectives and Responsibilities:

• Handle customer enquiries regarding vehicle availability, rental rates and terms and conditions.
• Process rental bookings and reservations accurately and efficiently.
• Identify sales opportunities and recommend suitable vehicles and optional extras based on customer needs.
• Achieve agreed individual and team sales targets.
• Complete customer check-in and check-out processes, including rental documentation, payments, vehicle inspections and final charges.
• Ensure vehicles are presented to the required cleanliness, quality and presentation standards.
• Assist with vehicle preparation, including cleaning vehicles on return and preparing them for the next rental.
• Maintain accurate customer, booking and vehicle records on the relevant systems.
• Deal with customer queries and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Liaise with colleagues to ensure vehicles are available and ready for customer collection.
• Support the day-to-day operation of the depot and assist with other duties as required.

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience in a customer-facing, sales, rental, retail or service environment is advantageous.
• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Target-driven with a proven ability and enthusiasm for achieving sales.
• Strong IT skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional, flexible and hardworking with a high standard of personal presentation.
• Full, valid driving licence required.
• High achievement and drive, with a positive and enthusiastic approach to delivering results.
