Enhanced Apprenticeship Academy Program

Johnson and Perrott offer two SOLAS apprenticeships – Motor Mechanic & Vehicle Body Repair. These four-year apprenticeships will allow individuals to gain QQI Qualifications and become fully qualified motor mechanic or a fully qualified vehicle body repairer, with a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Vehicle Body Repairs.

In addition to a standard apprenticeship Johnson and Perrott are offering enhanced benefits to apprentices. The enhancements fall within a number of categories, Tool Support, Enhanced Training, Bonus Eligibility and Educational Support 
 
Tool Support Scheme
Apprentices will receive funding to build their tool kits every year of their apprenticeship.
1st Years will receive a tool support allowance funding to build a starter toolbox.  In addition to this, you will also be eligible to receive a tool allowance of €500 for your second, third and fourth year of your apprenticeship. This allowance will help you acquire the additional tools required to undertake your growing duties. In addition to this, you will be entitled to purchase up to €1,000 on our tool loan scheme. Repayments for the Loan Scheme of which are made weekly through payroll over the course of the year. 

Enhanced Training
We are delighted to announce that, in addition to qualifying with a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Craft Motor Mechanics, our apprentices will be provided with the opportunity to gain enhanced training under the new program. Within our dealerships you will be provided with the maximum training available to apprentices within your dealership’s franchises. This training will help to fast track your career development upon qualification. 

 
Educational Support
As part of the apprenticeship program, Apprentices will be required to complete two of their phases of off-the-job training in a higher education institution. As a result, a student contribution of €1,000 must be paid for this part of the training. As part of our enhanced program, we are delighted to announce that we will pay both years of the student contribution fee on their behalf. As a result, apprentices will incur no fees to whilst pursuing your qualification. 
 
Bonus Scheme
In an effort to recognise the contribution apprentices play within our dealerships, we are delighted to implement an apprenticeship bonus scheme for second to fourth year apprentices during their on-the-job phases. 
 You will become eligible to join the scheme upon reaching your 12-month anniversary with the company. You will be eligible to move between the bonus levels as per the below schedule:
 

  • 2nd Year Bonus: after 12 months apprentices will be able to earn up to 50% of the monthly workshop bonus – maximum of €125.00 per month. 
  • 3rd Year Bonus: after 2 years apprentices and will be able to earn up to 75% of the monthly workshop bonus – maximum of €187.50 per month. 
  • 4th Year Bonus: after 3 years apprentices will be able to earn up to 100% of the monthly workshop bonus – maximum of €250.00 per month. 

We are on the search for individuals who are extremely passionate about cars, technology and teamwork, and who are ready to take on the challenge of working with us as an apprentice in one of Ireland’s Leading Motor Groups. This is a fantastic opportunity to be mentored in a high-tech state of the art workshop alongside our highly skilled Master Technicians.

This four year apprenticeship is offered in conjunction with SOLAS and involves both on and off the job training. Once successfully complete, the apprentice will be awarded a QQI level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft in Motor Mechanics.
