Established in 1980, National Truck & Van Rental has accumulated extensive expertise in commercial vehicle hire over the years. As a part of the Johnson and Perrott Motor Group, we are excited to invite applications for HGV Mechanics to join our Ballycoolin team.

Job Summary:

As an integral member of our service team, the HGV Mechanic will report directly to the Service Manager. The role entails conducting diagnostic tests on heavy vehicles, executing necessary repairs, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations.

Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To:

• Conducting periodic safety inspections on our contract and rental fleet.
• Performing fault diagnostics and subsequent repairs.
• Attending to broken down or accident-damaged vehicles, providing necessary repairs.
• Preparing vehicles for CVRT testing.
• Installing and removing a diverse range of ancillary equipment, accessories, and livery.
• Ensuring accurate completion of all relevant paperwork.
• Adhering to applicable legislation and health and safety protocols.
• Maintaining cleanliness and safety within work areas.
• Carrying out additional duties as directed by supervisory personnel.

Qualifications and Skills:

• You will need to be a qualified HGV Mechanic or a final year apprentice.
• Experience on Mercedes, DAF, MAN, Iveco and or Renault Trucks is a significant advantage.
• You need to hold a Minimum Class B Driving License.
• Class C License would be an Advantage.
• You must be fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Be able to work to high standards and be highly motivated to learn.
• Have a passion for vehicle repair.
• Be able to work well as part of a team & have strong organizational and planning skills.
• You need to have Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
